Save your notes!

A few weeks ago I read an article about the Livescribe Pulse Pen, a multimedia pen with an infrared camera, an audio recorder and a PC connection. The infrared camera saves all your notes and pictures digitally. The special paper has invisible little dots, which help the camera determine what you are writing. A disadvantage is that this paper is very expensive. By means of a special software program it is possible to see your notes on your pc. Sound and notes are saved synchronously, which makes it possible to hear what someone said when you were writing that specific word. This is a very useful function for students or for people who take minutes.

The Livescribe Pulse Pen is available in two variants, one with a memory storage capacity of 1 GB and one with a capacity of 2 GB. Furthermore, the pen has several accessories, for instance several sizes of notepads, protection covers and ink refills. In my opinion, this is a very useful appliance for many people. iPad

This week there were many news flashes about the iPad. This new Apple device was introduced on 27 January in San Francisco. Up to now, the iPad is only for sale in the United States. At the end of April the device will available in several European countries, including England and Germany. When the iPad will be available in the Netherlands is unknown.

What are the possibilities of the iPad? Well, you can use it to send e-mails, to surf on the internet, to play games or to watch movies , to listen to music, to download and read e-books, newspapers and other media and to write by means of a virtual keyboard. The iPad has an electronic gyroscope which determines in which position the device is located. Furthermore, the iPad is very fast and is lighter and handier than a laptop. It is not possible to call or to make pictures or videos with the iPad.

The iPad was topic of many interviews this week, I read one today in a local newspaper. Two days ago, the device was subject of the Dutch TV show “De Wereld Draait Door”:
